May 20 will be a print night. We are judging Livonia's end-of-year so we will start early. Try to be here by 7:30 p.m. so you can see examples of other club's work.
June 3 is also a program. We will begin the meeting promptly at 7:45 p.m. Bring your slides early to get them checked in. Bring goodies to share since the program is long and we may have extra guests.
Ribbons were awarded for PPS and GDCCC competitions.
Judy requested a copy of the PPS Constitution and By-Laws be sent to her via e-mail.
There was discussion about the proposed GDCCC print division changes. The club agreed to have the 2 delegates vote to accept to changes as proposed.
Color (do-it-yourself) Print
A "Color Print" shall be any color image printed by the photographer using any available process.
Hand Coloring of the print is acceptable.
Digital manipulation is acceptable.
Monochrome (do-it-yourself) Print
A "Monochrome Print" shall be any image printed by the photographer using any available process.
Prints that are black and white with shades of gray and up to I additional color are acceptable.
Prints that are "toned" (1 color) with up to I additional color are acceptable.
Hand coloring of that I additional color is acceptable
Digital manipulation is acceptable.
Commercial Print
A "Commercial Print" shall be any image (Color or B&W) printed by someone other than the photographer using any process.
The club also discussed whether PPS rules automatically mirror GDCCC rules. Some people thought there had been a vote with a decision made to mirror Council rules. There was record only of discussion but no vote. A motion was made and seconded as follows: Pontiac Photographic Society will adopt GDCCC rules effective the date of Council rule change from this date forward. Motion carried.
A nominating committee was requested to fill the slate of officers for next year. Judy and Ellie volunteered. The election will take place at the June 20, 2002 meeting.
Joyce suggested that people be allowed to opt out of trophies and plaques for end-of-year competitions. Anyone who does not want to receive a trophy can let the appropriate director know when they submit their end-of-year entries. We could also consider having traveling trophies instead.
As a clarification of Grand Prix entry rules, a participant may use two rolls of film as long as the Grand Prix entries are consecutive on the rolls. The participant must still turn in the slides, unopened, to the grand-prix coordinator. The slides that are not part of Grand Prix will be returned to the entrant (they won't have to wait until the grand-prix entry date to get them).
Mark your calendars for our annual "Welcome back, Barb and Lily" party for August 17, 1:00 p.m. at the Kroll's. Maps and further details to come.
Our Galleria exhibit at the Oakland County Executive Office Building is set for late October 2002. Start planning which framed prints you want to enter.

June 3 is a slide competition and a program "Butterflys and Moths" presented by Ray and Pat Coleman. Bring you slides in early for entry by 7:15 p.m. Meeting starts at 7:45 p.m.
The Darrell Gulin seminar was the best seminar ever. GDCCC made a profit but it's not the full answer to the financial need. Five tickets were sold at the Adray Show. There was some interest in club at both events from potential new members.
