Take 2 picture IDs. Bob Dombroski will not be at the next
DP meeting (and may be in Bev and Judy will both be gone for the next competition. The PPS EOY banquet will tentatively be at the Harbor House in You need to pick your end-of-year 5 entries per division and get
them to Bev, Judy and/or Bob ASAP. Bev reminded us that she only volunteered to be President until
the end of January and that she won’t be here for the next meeting. John Kroll said that he’d act as president
until the June elections. John Kroll asked if the club would approve purchase of a Spyder
color calibration unit for the digital projector. It could also be used by members to
calibrate their monitors at home. The
club tentatively approved $200 – $375 for the unit. We’ll do more
research into what we need and come back to the next meeting with more
information. We will meet Monday, September 8th instead of on
Labor Day. We will not have a meeting on December 15th. The goodies list was updated: -

At Campus Tech, you can get student prices
even with current proof of grade school attendance. In PhotoShop,
to bring a face out of shadow, create an “overlay” layer and paint the face
with white. Google “RAW vs
Jpeg” and “PhotoShop tutorials” for training
materials. We need judging training. Maybe we can set up mock sessions for
everyone to judge and discuss. |

Bev: The Michigan Orchid Society will be having their annual
competition and display the weekend of March 15 -16 in VP: We will start another digital
training session at 6:00 PM on 03/17/08. Treasurer: $1236.44 Record Keeper: ·
The Access database has been brought up-to-date. The “wins” for 2007 have been printed and
handed out. New Business: ·
Starting in April we’re going to try having a program
night on the 1st Monday of each month and hold all of the
competitions and business discussions on the 3rd Monday. On April 7th, we’ll discuss
depth-of-field and some of the standard buttons and functions on SLR cameras,
so bring your camera equipment and something to shoot. Digital Projection entries will have to be
emailed by April 14th and you should bring prints and slides on
April 21st. We’ll plan to have
the digital training session at 6:00 PM and be ready to start judging DP
entries at 7:30 PM, followed by slides and then prints. |

1 meeting will be a Program Night -- Judging and Critiquing. We
approved a proposal to move election of officers to December. The term will be January through December. The current officers volunteered to serve
until December when new officers are elected. We rejected
a proposal to allow people who have submitted work to judge. We
rejected a proposal to stop the slide competitions. |
